OUR HISTORY
The Pilot Club of Fort Myers Beach was part of Pilot International, founded in 1921 as a service organization, composed of business and professional women who shared a common trait: The desire to help people in need and to make the world a better place to live.
In 2010, after almost 25 years as the Pilot Club of Fort Myers Beach, the Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation (FMBCF) was formed. The new non-profit continued to draw on Pilot traditions of friendship and service to the community as the mission of the newly formed organization.
RAISING FUNDS TO GIVE IT AWAY
Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation has distributed over $700,000 to over 30 organizations. We donate to FMB Public Library, Estero Island Historic Society, FMB MERTF, Ronald McDonald House, Keep Lee County Beautiful, Friends of Lovers Key, Bay Oaks Recreation, The Mound House, Beach Kids Foundation, Estero Bay Buddies, FMB Art Association, Scholarships to FSW and we have a funded FSW Endowment. Our goal is to help those in need.
Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation has raised over $700,000 in support of 30 different charitable organizations for our neighbors in need.
FSW Scholarships, opportunities at secondary and trade schools and GED. Donations to Renee’s Closet for Beach Elementary, participation at Butterfly Garden and STEM.
We coordinate with Keep Lee County Beautiful to keep our island clean. We support A.C.T., and we prepare monthly dinners at Ronald McDonald House.
